WHAT AN HONOUR!

With due humility...

7.30am:

The phone rings.

It’s my mother.

“Have you seen The Australian Jewish News today” she asked.

“Um, no, it’s only 7.30 am and I don’t get it delivered”.

She is so proud… as only a mother can be.

This is part of the front page.

Then there is a colour magazine section called “Life”.

The man at the newsagent thought I was weird – buying quite a few copies.
3 copies go immediately into my kids’ memory boxes.
if you click on the photo it should be large enough an image to read - I hope?

It is nice for The Fiszman’s too.

On the front are some of the images from the box of documents from “The Brown Vinyl Bag” which is you have not read the post related to it, you can find it here.

Here are some photos of what I found.
Check out all that correspondence!

I now know who Willy was.

He was the son of a Sydney Rabbi. It's not the fellow pictured here though.

But more than that I am not going to tell you as you will have to wait till I piece it all together.

Ciao for now.

Judy,
As usual I am just in awe of you! Congratulations on the feature in the magazine, you deserve it. Such beautiful and powerful work needs to be recognized. You know, I would love to see a book with just your work in it.

I had missed the brown vinyl bag entry when you first posted it so I read it today. I got goosebumps! The universe works in mysterious ways. There was some kind of energy coming off that stuff that pulled you, particularly, in.

I also loved the photo of your grandfather and Margot Fonteyn. One of my favorite ballerinas is Maria Tallchief. If your grandfather made shoes for her then he will officially become a rock star in my book! I have a little hero-worship for Maria Tallchief left over from my childhood.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, btw. I love finding out who has visited. I've ducked in here a few times, but mostly on the run, so no commenting. You would think that with Rexy in school I would have more time but it doesn't seem to be working out that way.

YIkes! I just realized I've written a novel here! I'd better go before my geekiness becomes official. Have a great week!

This is amazing news Judy! And so well deserved. You are doing a wonderful job of preserving memories for others. And I know you are touching many, many hearts in the process.

I loved reading how something mystical happens with each anthology. Sounds like you are being provided with exactly what you need.

I admire your art, and admire your spirit..

Congratulations, Judy! What a FABULOUS article! Thanks so much for posting it large enough for us to read.

I am always inspired not only by your lovely creations, but the history and research that you put into each piece. You are beyond an artist..you are a true Master, and a salvation to all Jewish people. I think there was a reason why you were the one that stumbled upon that brown vinyl bag. Only you could turn that brown bag into gold.

Thanks for being such an inspiration to us all! I love both you and your work.
